Most of the successful nonfiction writers are talented storytellers. Think about how they write.

I have read Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence and Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink. These books tell amazing stories. One story leads to another, and the reader keeps learning without getting bored.

Start with a story

Readers remember stories better. Your article must include useful examples, practices, and observations.

Engage your readers

The purpose of every sentence should be to take your reader to the next sentence.

Use emotional queues

Use more imagery and stir more emotions.

Use words that make the reader feel your reasoning instead of just reading it.

Power words can stir emotions that can keep the reader’s attention focused on the story.

Keep your writing easy

Break down complex ideas into small chunks. Use brief paragraphs and white space.

Try to use simple words but try to communicate the idea forcefully.

Shock the reader

Ask a question that makes the readers reflect. Then answer that question with your insights and knowledge in your style.

Use your imagination as much as a fiction writer. Keep practicing until you write well. Then be a storyteller.
